A macular hole is a small break in the macula, which is the central part of the retina responsible for sharp, detailed vision needed for tasks like reading and driving. Early diagnosis and intervention are crucial for the best possible outcome, as timely treatment can improve or stabilize vision and prevent further deterioration.
