Blepharospasm is a movement disorder characterized by involuntary and repetitive contractions of the muscles around the eyes, leading to frequent blinking or eye twitching. In severe cases where medication and botulinum toxin injections are not sufficient, surgical interventions such as myectomy (removal of some of the eyelid muscles) may be considered.
